Too sunny not to…

Standard

Sunny Tuesday afternoon, bull clips and poems in hand, I drive down to South Pandosy, the location of my first experiences with reading my poetry randomly in public, and my first poetry pinning installation, over 2 years ago.

This time I have an assistant who is more than willing to help attach said poems to trees and shrubs and benches and newly installed parking meters! WHAT??? Parking meters? Yes, folk, it will cost you to park in the village from now on. Times they are a changing… just like the leaves!

And, I just heard back from a lovely lady who discovered a poem that we pinned up today,

“Loved your pop up poetry on tutt st. today.” ~ Karla, Kelowna.

Here’s to the ripple effect of creative joy and engagement.

Happy October!

Remember that song… the popcorn song? Yeah, that one;

I remembered this song today as I drove around and jumped out of my car and in true guerilla fashion affixed poems to shrubberies and fences. In Kelowna and in Winfield. And then I drove away quickly before anyone could catch me. (I always feel slightly naughty when I install poetry, and maybe that’s part of the fun of it. Maybe I should get out more often?)

Here are some photos of today’s installations. Note plastic jackets to keep poems warm and dry.

Happy National Poetry Month one and all!

Poet tree installation at Stuart Park, Kelowna, @ 9:15 am, Thurs. Apr. 3/14.

Installations number two and three, urban, quickly so as not to attract the attention of a security guard that may or may not take these down when I leave, a little poetry, a little chalk, a few pictures and done! What will be, will be.

DSC_0083Monday, January 27, 2014, I’ll be stepping up to the mic at Purple Vine Club, to give a talk on living a creative life. And, I’ll be reading my lions share of poetry along with some photographic images that invite introspection and a calm consideration of making the most of every moment we are given.

This event is brought to you by Cyndee Sapiano, passionate leader of the Purple Vine Club, and local go getter. Cyndee is a Coach and Family Educator, Financial Consultant and Investment Advisor. Cyndee invited me to speak.

You’ll also be treated to the unique creative insights of Carrie Harper, talented mixed media visual artist and owner of the heART School, Kelowna. Carrie is a student of all things Art and Spirituality.

And there will be snacks.

Yep, that’s how it will be and so much better if you come out.

Here’s the link to register and for tickets. Only until Sunday at 5 pm. It’s a good deal for a fun couple of hours of network connections, nosh for the body and the spirit.

Come on out. Bring a friend. I’ll be there!

Resting…

DSC_0041What a year.

Installing poems @ Los Angeles, Port Townsend, Kelowna, Penticton, and Vancouver.

Performing poetry on the streets, in cafes, libraries, churches, and in homes.

Writing poetry and submitting and having some published in literary mags and elsewhere.

Stretching and growing through all of the above.

Yes, a very good year. I am exponentially blessed.

And now I shall rest until the New Year.  And I shall bask in the good company of family and friends. And I shall be glad.

For words that pop up and expand in 2014,

Lesley-Anne, SDG
